The Boston Bruins are one game away from doing in Stanley Cup final, where the Vancouver Canucks are already waiting. Vancouver won the Western Conference championship Tuesday night, when they eliminated the San Jose Sharks in five games.
With the win, the Canucks are back in the championship series of the NHL playoffs for the first time since 1994 when they lost to the Rangers Mark Messier in New York.
Boston is also a team that has been absent from the Stanley Cup final for some time that the Bruins have not played for the Stanley Cup in 21 years. Mark Messier had a hand in the outcome of the championship series in 1990 and Edmonton Oilers won their fifth and final day of the Cup in Boston during that year.
instead of Boston vs. Vancouver is still far from being reserved as Tampa Bay remained disposal already this season to post several times. Lightning is in a hole, but they have been in worse spots, as they trailed the Pittsburgh Penguins first-round playoff series to 3-1 before rallying back.
If Boston were to join Vancouver tonight and the Bruins need a win on the road as the sixth game of the Eastern Conference final will come from Florida.
Tampa Bay would be returning Dwayne Roloson six games, while Mike Smith played very well in game five. Roloson was not effective in this ongoing series, has had most of the playoffs, but perhaps more than in the rest go into the game with six refining capacity to help 41 years old tonight.
Thurs six begin at 20:00 ET with TV coverage available on Versus and CBC.
