The three-time 400-mile-event winner Jeff Gordon is curious to see whether high temperatures create less grip and less "stick" in the weekend's fourth annual race in July at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night.
A new coating of 2.5 km above the surface of the track in 2010, has taken over competitors during Speedweeks at the beginning of this year, but the songs tend to lose grip warmer temperatures. And 'this is the case this weekend? If so, how the car affects the two drafts have become the norm during the limiter-plate races in recent times?
Gordon is eager to know the answers to these questions during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to Florida this weekend.
With the stroke the drafting of bills and two cars, we were able to push another car all the way around the track here in February, said Gordon, who will drive the No. 24 Chevrolet Impala Pepsi Max this weekend week. "I do not know yet if we will have the same level of grip this weekend with higher temperatures. If we lose control, a car will still be able to" stick "to others for a ride or more full turns

Right now, I expect we will still be a push (the entire track), then you are going to find a partner. My (Hendrick Motorsports) teammate Mark Martin and I worked very Talladega (Ala.), so I'm sure we'll try one again. "
In 37 starts here Gordon has six wins including three Daytona 500 victories, three pole positions, 12 top-five and 18 top-10s. One thing has not changed during his 19-year career, the ability to adapt to changes on the circuit of Super.
When I started running here, we had high single-file packages where you had to work the tour after lap after lap and finally making the right steps to reach a position, said Gordon, who currently ninth point positions with two wins in 2011. Thus, with some of the changes on the race cars we were in big packs two and three wide, where a large 'run' might get you a number of positions in a game or even just one right away.
Now it's become a two-car packs. If you want to be good and have a chance to win, then you need to learn that two cars project well. You must learn to cool the engine.
